Climbing for Lost Linemen
June 19th 6-9pm
Clearfield County Fairgrounds
Each June, on the eve of their annual Rodeo, NSUJL and Climbing For Lost Linemen hold a ceremony honoring all brothers who lost their lives on the line during the prior 12 months.
The ceremony takes place at dusk, and is a tribute that cannot be described in words – but by the chills and tears on our fellow brother and sisters’ faces. A lantern is raised with each fallen brother’s name etched on it, as a brother climbs the pole to hang it and light the candle within. A moment of silence then takes place to in the honoree’s memory. At the top, they then light the candle within and take a moment of silence for the fallen brother. This event is by far the most symbolic of all we do, and why we do it.
If you would like to honor a fallen lineman please download and mail in the 2020 Honoree Form.
At the conclusion of the Rodeo, Lanterns are then given and/or mailed to the families of those honored.
